I just wanted to give a public shout out and THANK YOU to +SmugMug . There was a contest that was hosted by +Brian Matiash who works for +onOne Software (Love it!). The contest was to find an image of yours that you felt deserved its own SmugMug gallery, and why. This is what I wrote, "This one just reminds me that my daughters have the whole world in front of them, and that they are strong and can face that world. I have this image hanging in my living room, and it is the single image that I'm most proud of so far." I won the contest, and was given a year of SmugMug Business Plan for a year. I've been thrilled using SmugMug for the past year, and am thrilled to continue my business relationship with them. The customer service they provide is top notch. I'm happy having them host all my full sized client JPGs, and just love the service they provide. The interface, and the customization I have for my client side is just fantastic. I'm a very satisfied SmugMug user. (and thrilled to have won a year free). If you have any questions on why I love SmugMug, please feel free to ask! I've loved this shot since I first saw it (especially as the father of a little girl). But I just now looked at it full screen, and saw all the sand smudged on her and her cape. And that just makes it that much better.
Like a heroine that's filthy from battle, but triumphant, and headed off into the sunset to find more adventures.

It brings me such incredible joy to capture these authentic moments of childhood that could be lost if I wasn't paying attention This wasn't a staged shot in any way. This is what she chose to wear to the beach, this is how she chose to spend her time at the beach. I was just a lucky enough parent to be there to watch her play. I hope this image hangs on her wall to inspire her to be brave as she goes though life.

But the photos that work, the great ones? The ones I get to hang in my cube at work as a reminder of why I shouldn't stay late? I'm very glad that I have them.
